What is an Insight Concert?
An Insight Concert is a unique, immersive experience that blends live cello music with guided prompts to facilitate deep self-reflection. Through Elena Cheah’s expressive playing and intuitive coaching, participants are gently led into a meditative state where emotions, insights, and creative visions can emerge with ease. The rich resonance of the cello acts as a portal to deeper awareness, making it easier to access personal clarity and effect transformation—all within the privacy of one's own inner world.

Insight Concerts are available for concert audiences and corporations alike, as part of a concert series or your company's team-building and well-being offerings.

About me
I have been a professional musician for most of my life, including my childhood. As a child and teenager, I was also deeply fascinated by the mystery of human consciousness and the forces that connect us to one another. I read the Tao Te Ching in Stephen Mitchell’s translation when I was fourteen and it turned my world upside down. It was the opposite of everything I was learning at school, from society, from the adults around me. From that point onward, my life split in two: there was the life I led for the outside world and the one I pursued for my soul, the inner world. It is taking me a lifetime to unite these two lives, but I am closer now than ever before.
Along the way, I have held various positions in that outer world: principal cellist of the orchestras of the Deutsche Oper and German State Opera Berlin, writer and editor of internationally published books, professor of cello at the Freiburg Music University, and member of the Hegel Quartet. In the inner world, I have continued my lifelong search for unity through Zen meditation, yoga, long walks in the mountains and writing. I have attended the School for the Work of Byron Katie and various other workshops on The Work, and am now a certified Martha Beck Wayfinder Coach.
